Feedback gevenIt was unexpected to discover an Indian restaurant in Brighouse, but there it was, and we were quite hungry. The service was good, and the place was fairly busy. Unfortunately, the lamb vindaloo was one of the worst I've ever tasted.
We decided to try the Bengal Brasserie Star for two, which was fantastic and served hot on a sizzling plate. We also sampled chicken pakora, sheek kebabs, and onion bhajis. I have to mention that the onion bhajis were enormous—I've never seen anything like them, and they tasted great! The chicken pakora was decent, but sadly, the sheek kebabs were not up to standard; they were quite rubbery. For our main courses, we ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken chilli masala, and chicken tikka shashlik. All three curries were delightful, but I must say the shashlik was the standout dish. Additionally, I noticed that the prices at the Bengal are very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area. We will definitely be returning for another visit!
The food is beautifully simple, but the service leaves much to be desired.
Extremely good both service and quality. I gave him up, ordered him to get over the road to sainsbury, it was pretty finished as soon as I returned. it wasn't so far to take it tonight, it was blistringly hot, delicious divine, plus I got a few chapattis I didn't expect, brilliant. very recommended, phil.
Traditional old school food starters not upto much but main course fantastic. Excellent value for money will definitely return.
