Visited this place on the occasion of Jamaishashti. I was given a wholesome treat by my in-laws. The food was quite tasty and the potion was quite enough.
Located 10mins walking from serampore ferry ghat.... In the serampore court campus. A vintage restaurant serving variety from bengali cuisine. Ambiance- The cafe resembles a one storry bengali zamindari style structure. With a big balcony with outdoor seating for smoking and waiting as well. Some vintage furniture will give you the perfect vibe. But in between all, you get to see a good of planters and green. Inside the joint, the vibe remains the same with well classy look. On the other side there is a non AC outdoor hookah lounge (available in the evening). Coming to the food, they have a good variety of food representing the Bengali cuisine. Tastes are indeed very good. Their must tries- Gondhoraj murgi Sorse murgi Chicken dakbanglow Most important, this place offers pets friendly space.
The Ambience was wonderful along with the services. One would feel the old world Bengal Zamindar feeling with its Furnitures, decoration, etc
A quintessential Bengali restaurant built on the structure of Serampore Court compound heritage canteen. The only downside of anything built on an old structure is that it requires extensive maintenance which is clearly lacking at some places. The outside seating area was a little dusty and the path leading to the restaurant was not well lit. However, once inside the restaurant the atmosphere is just perfect for a family dinner or spending some quality time with old friends. The old style decor compliments the place and the lighting gives a more heritage feeling. The restaurant serves a simple Bengali menu which mainly focuses on different types of fishes. Pocket pinch at this place is ₹400-600 per couple if you don't order something fancy. Food quantity was standard. It tasted just perfect and overall our evening went just fine. I will highly recommend this place for lunch if you want perfect Bengali dishes. I am sure you won't be disappointed.
