I am from St. Louis originally, so when I moved here over twenty years ago, I despaired of ever having truly good Italian food again. I tried several places in the region, but nothing quite met my standards. Then Roma came to Hugo, and I was pleasantly surprised. Their food is delicious, authentic, and well-prepared. I can't recommend just one item as everything is delightful. The side salad does lack something, but the House dressing is quite good. You're going to have lovely bread and such generous portions you won't care. It's a popular place that can get rather loud during peak hours, but the music is not, so non-peak dining is family-friendly as well as reasonably quiet. Dress is casual to just-came-from-working-outside. In other words, don't worry about it. You will enjoy it, and if something is a little off, the owner is generally around and he will go out of his way to make you happy.
