Had only a big breakfast! nice eating and very good value.

Discovered The Coffee Cup on a recent three day visit to Hull and I was very glad that I did. Had a lunch and two breakfasts there. Hearty and home cooked fare. Real comfort food and fantastic value. Loved it.

Had a lovely cheap and cheerful meal there. Better presented than other more expensive places l have been in. Will most certainly go again.

The atmosphere is unpretentious, featuring walls in a bright, crisp green reminiscent of avocados, and the place is exceptionally clean. There are no overpriced artworks or unnecessary vintage decor here. The full English breakfast delivers exactly what it promises: sausage, bacon, fried egg, and toast, with optional extras like mushrooms, hash browns, black pudding, and tomatoes. Everything is ready to serve quickly, and it is beautifully cooked (though I found the hash brown to be slightly undercooked, my friend assured me that his last visit did not have that issue). I must give special praise to the thick, buttery toast with a delightful tiger crust—it's a wonderful touch and shows the restaurant doesn't skimp on quality! Additionally, the prices are very reasonable, around £4 or £5 for a generous portion. There are no overpriced, pretentious brunch options here. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. I do have two minor suggestions for improvement. First, they don’t seem to offer orange or even apple juice, and second, their coffee is made from small pods instead of a traditional machine, which I found a bit disappointing for a place called The Coffee Cup. Overall, my experience was excellent. It's also worth noting that despite the bustling atmosphere, I felt that the space was safe and well-organized, with the menu displayed on boards and tables comfortably spaced apart. I can't wait to return. Thank you!
