Huntingdon is small town of about 2400 people with the River Chateaugay passing right through. Once upon a thriving town with two textile mills the town has lost both and the young population deserting the town for better jobs. So it was a surpridse to find a Thai Restaurant in town just opened 7 months back by Silvaine & Shirley. Silvaine acts as the Chef with Shirley helping him out with a very pleasant young lady serving. The menu has only limited items. Wanton Soup, Spring rolls, Bang Bang Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Beef or Chicken Stir fry, Shrimp Tempura and Fried Ice Cream. I think the menu sounds more Chinese than Thai. Sumptuous portions all with white rice. The food was tasty and pleasing. No alcohol served but you are free to bring your own bottle. They are only open Thursday to Sunday . When I went there the restaurant was full. Reservations recommended. all in all good value for money, We were ten family and friends $4 for starter, $14 to 18 Main course with Rice, $4 for Dessert
This is a nice new restaurant, specializing in Thai food. They're menu is extremely small but they do them well. The chef is incredibly friendly and always wants you to try everything. The general Tao was very good, we ate there once and then got takeout another time. It makes for a nice change from the normal restaurants.
My wife and I enjoyed a good dinner at Restaurant Bothai. The menu was short: only four entrees and four main dishes. The restaurant was almost full when we stopped in without a reservation on Saturday evening, but we were quickly seated at a table by the window. The owner/chef stopped by our table to welcome us and inform us that all the food served was prepared in the restaurant from fresh local ingredients; his pride in serving high-quality meals was evident. We started with Imperial rolls, cooked just right and served with a good fruit puree, not overly sweet. I ate shrimp with sauteed vegetables, again perfectly cooked and spiced, a very filling plateful. My wife had General Tao chicken, with a sauce that was flavourful without being too sweet. The service was friendly and efficient in both French and English, and the price was quite reasonable
