The Standard Social Market - Huntsville

I had a salmon dish that didn't taste as good as I thought it would, and the portion was small. My son had a burger and fries, which he said was tasty, and there was plenty there. My daughter-in-law had shrimp and grits that she seemed to enjoy. Our waiter, Harrison, was outstanding. The atmosphere is charming, a sort of old-timey look. The prices are moderate to high. Recommended.

Rosemary chicken with mashed potatoes is probably the best I've ever had $20). The sweet tea wasn't all that sweet, really. The husband had a cheeseburger. He didn't see anything special about it and complained about the price $15). The fries he had with it were soggy, like they weren't cooked long enough. Basically, go get the rosemary chicken! ? It is bone-in 1/2 chicken.

Unacknowledged upon walking in. We (2 people) stood there at the door waiting on the hostess to acknowledge us as we stood there awkwardly for 10 minutes. We were the only ones standing there. She looked miserable and did not even try to get our name or anything. The waiters didn’t even help us. They just kept walking right past us. Then a girl walks in and hostess asked if she could help her. After that, we just walked out. Who does business like that? We tried to give this place another chance after we had to stand around again. They need to fix how they manage the front of the house. Needless to say, we won’t be back to try again.

I've tried to eat here several times with my wife, and it's always a frustrating experience. Our previous efforts they told us it would be an hour or longer wait for a table so we went elsewhere. This morning we stood inside the door awkwardly for about 10 minutes, then a woman walked in the door and was almost immediately greeted by the hostess, who had walked past us several times and had to know that we were waiting for a table. We decided to take our business elsewhere instead of continue being ignored and disrespected by the hostess.

Stopped in for brunch. The restaurant was full, so we took seats at the bar, which were open and available. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was awesome. The food was just alright. There was nothing special about our meals that left a I need to return feeling. For a meal or drinks, the location and atmosphere of being downtown is perfect.Kid friendliness: There is a bar, but the restaurant is still kid friendly.Parking: Parking on the weekend is free, meter parking Monday Friday. Parking is horrible. We parked around the block and walked.
