Beautiful seating outdoors with views of animals and alps. self-service restaurant with vegetarian and vegan food and cake. Ask for vegetable milk!
Since I saw the documentary films about “Gut Aiderbichl” and fell in love with her mission and convictions, I was looking forward to a day of this paradie itself and met not only the beautiful animals with all their history, but also the people behind this concept. the sacred is surrounded by a beautiful Bavarian landscape. with the mountains in the far and the next seashore only 500 meters away I was to a good beginning feeling as if I finally found a place great rest between us living beings. the leader showed us the animals and told us their hearty layers. about the half through the picture began to crack when I asked about cat and dog food that was answered very evasiw. after various excuses, the guide confirmed that it was one of the cheapest doses from the viehwirtschaft. when the tour ended, the leader had already made clear that they were desperate for support. I totally understood their point, but then the leader aktiw tried to push every current person in money donation over a long period monthly. were strongly judged and the mood quickly became a price tag. anyway, I came out without getting a smile, but at least some money in my pocket and went into the restaurant I was hoping to secure the sinking ship. it didn't. I was confused by the labeling as it wasn't clear whether some dishes were vegan or not. when it became clear that not even the half of the food was vegan, I asked the cook where the milk products came. again very evasive answer, but at the end he confessed that it is not the cheapest, but also not the organic art (not that it makes a difference at all.) I left the scene with bitter taste. how can they support the industry they so heroically try to save the victims? “Repeat” while still behind? in my little mathematical understanding when they save one, but another, at the end the equation is still zero and the hero is still a hypocrite. Although I think that “good Aiderbichl” is a great step in the right direction, with a lot of wasted potential, in retrospect the whole visit felt like a well-planned vegan honeypot case for naive animal lovers.
While having a sign next to the saved cows telling you about milk they sell mainly vegetarian stuff: lots of cheese, non vegan cakes, etc. This makes me so angry I cannot enjoy a stay there. I wrote to the direction of the sanctuaries; they wrote a long answer. Short version: we don‘t care/more money. Makes me wanna throw up.
We visited the place to support the awesome work the sanctuary is doing. The food reheated but surprisingly very tasty. We had the pasta (8,95 and the Schnitzel (9,95 and some mixed salads (small 6,95 from the buffet as well. Nevertheless, we as vegans were disappointed that they are still selling so many non-vegan dishes... it seems inconsistent. However, we noticed the reactions of the visiting people and could understand how hard it must be for the owner not to sell meat... but would decide differently.
