Such a hard worker and open long, tourist-friendly hours. The shop was fun to explore and is arranged in a somewhat organized chaos. It is cash only but they have an ATM in the store. No prices were posted and it was a little expensive. She did give us a heads up when we selected the peanut butter cup that it would be $10. We were a little worried reading other reviews that the chocolates were going to be stale and/or dusty. We fortunately did not have that experience. The chocolate was expensive, but it was good.
We will not go back here! The “peach chiller made with real peaches” as the sign states, is peach mango juice from Costco. When we told her the sign was misleading, she very rudely stated that this was the flavour of the day “missy”! Super expensive, dark and dirty! So many other places in Waterton to support. Go somewhere else!
To start, this restaurant is cash-only, which should have been a warning sign. After looking around, we opted for just getting ice cream for the moment with plans to return for something else the next day. However, we were disappointed to learn upon checking out that they do not offer fair exchange rates if using US dollars. It's a one-to-one exchange, not based on value. Fortunately, there are four more ice cream shops just across the street and around the corner.
The ice cream was delicious, but we were not happy with the prices. One scoop cost $4.95, two scoops cost $6.95, and we were okay with that. However, when we went to pay, we were charged an additional $2.25 for a small plastic container and $4.00 for the cone. We were also surprised to find out that only cash was accepted, so we had to use the ATM and incur an extra cost. We were unsure where to put our ice cream once we ordered it, and in hindsight, we should have just handed it back to the cashier and politely declined.
I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. It is a complete scam. They only accept cash, and if you only have US dollars, they rip you off by using an exchange rate of 1 USD to 1 CAD. If you don't have Canadian dollars, don't bother coming here. We ordered a single scoop of ice cream, and the worker told us it was 4.99 CAD. However, when we went to pay, the cashier charged us over 6 USD. We gave her 20 USD, and she gave us the change in Canadian dollars. This place is a total ripoff.
