Gold Lion Chinese - Independence

Just got some dumpling dipping sauce and it was so freaking spicy it choked us and set mouth on fire...absolutely disgusting

Gold Lion is my go to and forever will be! So let me tell you some of my favorite things about this restaurant and the people that own it:•Their food is always fresh, hot, and delicious•Their egg drop soup has gotten me through many, many colds•My dad used to buy tins of Christmas cookies to deliver to local businesses that he was a regular at and the libraries and one year he brought them a tin of Christmas cookies and the lady was so shocked and surprised that she hugged him next time he visited for take out she had a Christmas present for him with delicious Asian goodies•I wish I could remember the first day I went there but we’ve been going forever and they always ask how school is, if I’ve been back to China yet, or how work is•They told me my parents were lucky to adopt me•Every interaction has been nothing but positive and has helped heal so many complex feelings I’ve felt over the years about being adopted and not knowing my biological family•The delivery person is always kind and says hi to Mabel (our family cat)•Best. Eggrolls ever.•Their chicken teriyaki, shrimp fried rice, and egg foo young truly is the way to my heart•They ask about my dad each time I pick up an order for himThey’re just overall wonderful and I love their food and them so much. Please note: many Asian businesses received a lot of hate once Covid hit, so they haven’t been dine in since then, but they once were ?

I like this place. I usually have to wait but that's OK because I know it's fresh.

I had the best experience with Gold Lion last night. I ordered a sampling of their menu items and they were all terrific! I had the chicken in garlic sauce, which was perfectly spicy at medium (I might up the heat next time, which is a convenient option on their website). The Singapore Chow Mei Fun noodles were terrific. I tasted the Mongolian Beef and it was great too. The crab rangoon were sweet, which isn't my particular taste, but they were fresh and good. The seafood included in the Mei Fun dish tasted fresh and delicious.I have been searching for a new home for my Chinese food cravings and I believe I've found it. The cashier was super friendly and nice to me as well. They even called me when my food was ready (I was nearly there, but it was a nice touch. Thank you so much, Gold Lion!

My family and I have eaten Gold Lion for years. Food is always consistent, good size portions, reasonably priced, and always ready in less than 15 minutes. They have great lunch specials. We love the Lo Mein and General Tso’s. They have the best Hot and Sour Soup. If you are looking for a good Chinese restaurant this is it.
