San Miguel Bakery - Independence

We LOVE this bakery in historical downtown Independence!!! GREAT everything except...Parking! Which is often horrid!!! Sadly, We have had to go else many times!!! The only day parking is available is Monday when all of downtown Independence shuts down!!!

My son wanted one thing for his birthday a cherry pie. We are gluten free, so finding that was already going to be a struggle without driving to Portland, but the staff here made us a beautiful cherry pie, even though they don't even offer cherry pies on their menu. They went above and beyond to make his birthday wish come true at a reasonable price and right down the street. We'll be coming back again and again.

I ordered a gluten free carrot cake last minute on Friday for my wife's birthday party! They were able to make the cake on time for the party yesterday! Beautiful cake and it was one of the best gluten free carrot cakes we've ever had! Thank you Ovenbird! The best gluten free bakery goods right here in Independence Oregon! We'll be back for more!!

Nice people, great food. The quiche is superb....several kinds including a few with thinly sliced potato crust. So good!

Fresh bread the world's best quiche. Also really good cheese danishes. Staff are always good but the lunch customers can be a bit slow chatty in the line so allow yourself an extra 10-15 minutes if you're trying to pick up a loaf bread around lunch time.
