The server was fast at getting a cup of coffee in front of me before I could even look at the menu. I like that I ended up going with just some basic eggs, cheese grits and ham. I loved the thick rye toast that came with. No skimping there. Eggs and ham were prepared well. Cheese grits were a little bland. I would have liked to see them put a more sharp flavored cheese in there. The only other negative was the seats. They have some old school diner stools that look cool but are really hard and uncomfortable. My butt hurt by the time I left. But thats small potatoes. Its a good, friendly spot that will help yuou get your breakfast on.
The place was nicely done, clean, and had a great atmosphere. The service was great, she was very friendly, and made sure everything came out okay. All of us got different things and we all loved the food we got. I got the sweet spicy sandwich with a side salad and the chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce didn't overpower the sandwich. I would definitely come back and try something else!
Located on the southeast corner of Winthrop Ave and E 54 St. in the Meridian-Kessler area of Indianapolis. This is a cool little retro diner themed breakfast place with really good food and a killer **** Mary! The parking lot is fairly small, however, the restaurant 's not that large so it may not be a huge issue. There 's also some street parking available as well if needed. There 's bar seating toward the front entry way of the restaurant as well as bar seating in the main eating areas, along with bar height tables, low tables, and outdoor courtyard seating. The courtyard seating is located under a covered patio with a cool vine-type plant growing up and on top of it. The service was great, quick to take your order and serve your food. The food was delicious. I went with The Full Boat , which was two eggs, fried potatoes, biscuit and country sausage gravy, and opted for the applewood bacon! Everything on the plate was delicious. If you happen to be in the area, make sure to stop on in for breakfast, I know I will !
This place is a real gem. Located inside an old filling station, it's far more roomy than you'd expect and the menu has some perfectly executed staples as well as some inventive and creative surprises. It's far less pricey than some of the boujier places, but just as good. Also, mimosas.
I stopped in here one morning before an appointment as it's been on my list to visit non-chain breakfast spots. Immediately I could tell this is one well loved establishment. Parking is almost scarce, so if you come at a peak time be prepared to find a space. I loved how warm it felt going in, as I seated myself and waited on my server. My food was good, just not a mind blowing experience. However, it was just French toast and bacon. I am glad to say that I stopped in to have a bite, although I probably won't go out of my way to come back. I encourage visitors though. I felt good dining in the bright and airy colors all around me.
