I was craving sushi and decided to stop by after work. The interior is stunning—I really love the aesthetics. They have both tables and a sushi bar, which adds to the atmosphere.
In the past, the food has been really good, but the service has always been unreliable. I went in for a birthday lunch with my dad and waited 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. No one greeted us or came to the counter; one of the servers was completely passed out in a booth near the door—shoes off, arms crossed, and snoring. I felt sorry for the other guests there; there was one other table, and I couldn't tell how long they had been waiting to be seated, but they too were still looking at their menus, waiting to be attended to. We ultimately decided to walk out and cut our losses.
We visited on a Sunday at 2:00 PM and were the only customers in the restaurant. It was peaceful, and our food arrived quickly. The special volcanic roller showed promise, but...
The food was delicious, but the service left something to be desired. We weren't given any water, and drink refills only came after we finished our meal. The dishes were served at different times, which meant we couldn't eat together. While the server did his best to be friendly, the experience wasn't great overall. It was also strange to see the only chef lounging around and watching Netflix on his phone while customers waited for their food, especially since the restaurant was quite busy!
