The Chicken was dry and hard with a crisp bitebto it and the mole was kinda old looking and the taste was horrible. The steak salad was also bad. The Carne Asada was overcooked, almost charcoal looking and appears that they don't marinate to give it that Carne Asada taste. It was so bad we didn't eat either. The drinks however were goot. I guess that's a good thing when combining with bad food. Juat have a few drinks before eating so your not able to remember what the food taste like.If you've never had authentic Mexican food then you probably won't know the difference in taste and you may actually enjoy this place. However those of us that grew up in a Mexican household, this food is simply embarrassing to our culture. Just because you make it look trendy, doesn't mean it taste great. I recomend you hire a Doña to show you how to truly prepare Mexican Dishes because this is simply not cutting it.
Sophia and Tayla are wonderful! Excellent service! The food is great and I love the salsa! Definitely worth trying this little gem and would definitely recommend!
The Chicken Mole Poblano I ordered with out the corn tortillas with extra radish, pickled onions and cilantro and also came with a side of rice along with a piece of chicken in mole sauce; it was delicious and a mild mole on the spice scale. The specialty cocktail How I Met Your Mother was served in a copper cup and was sweet but not overwhelming so. There's a bar area, hightop seating, regular take seating, booths, and an outdoor patio area in the parking lot. Chips and salsa were excellent!
We originally had reservations at Cork and Fork for my in-laws 55th wedding anniversary. The day before, the restaurant called to cancel the reservation because they had not completed their move and would not be open as anticipated. We moved the reservation to their sister restaurant, Tu Madre, and anticipated an equal dining experience. Unfortunately, the restaurant overbooked, so we ended up with a table at the front door, we're my mother- and father-in-law were extremely cold. Whena boith opened up, we asked to be moved and we're told that it wasn't possible, because other people were waiting for a booth. We finished our initial round of drinks and left never having a meal. Needless to say, this is not what we had planned for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration with family.
Unfortunately, it was very average food and the prices seemed high. I ordered avocado tacos that were supposed to be vegetarian and they came out piled with bacon. Luckily, I noticed before I started eating. The chips taste like they were from a bag and the salsa was just ok. Nice interior but overall not a place I would go back.
