I puff puff seemed old; wasn't as light and fluffy as I'm used to. For sauce or stew to add flavor to my food, they wanted to charge $3 or $4. What African/ Nigerian restaurant charges for stew!?! There is no menu, just order what you see and you have to ask for prices. The waiter or person behind the counter was not welcoming, though she wasn't mean either. I'm a picky eater and this place was not it. I don't recommend this place.
So great African food. Enjoyed the food and feel African quality. I will like to come back here next time. Clean and responsible customer service.
I placed an order yesterday for a tray of okra without meat. I get there today and to start off the wahala, despite the fact that he was on the phone with me while I paid via zelle, called and confirmed with the owner that the payment went through, the short cashier starts chastising me did you pay, did you pay, are you sure you paid . Then he starts attacking the cook are you sure there 's no meat because she didn 't pay for meat. The lady made the mistake if adding meat. Hetells me to give him the soup so they can remove the meat. How preposterous!!! They literally took the soup and fished out the meat. ???? I asked for a plastic bag, he said we dont give plastic bags . There 's always one thing or anothergoing on. No change for customers, rude customer service, the same short guy telling me do you even tip , the female employees rolling their eyes, and arguing with me. I just spent $135 and I asked for a side of pepper, and he 's giving mean amount the size of a tablespoon saying this is very expensive sauce . I think his Napoleon complex is getting to his senses. I had to tell him that the things he says are unnecessary, but i dont blame him, its the owner that encoragestheir behavior. As I was leaving he didn 't say thank you, came outside to unlock the security gate and was staring me down as I drove away. (Side note: my uncle came here months ago and vowed to never come back because the woman cashierdidn 't want to give him change, they ordered like $100 worth of food and said he would walk to the store next door for change, she refused, so he just cancelled the entire order. I went to visit him and he 's furiously ranting about hisexperience at a Nigerian restaurant and it happened to be this one.
Very disappointed. Food was lukewarm and tasteless. Egusi soup was bland, no spice or flavor. Jollop rice bland. Plantains cold. Fish cooked hard as rocks. Couldn't eat it. I don't know where they got 4 stars unless they continously rated themselves. I was really looking forward to a lovely experience. It was dirty, trash on floor and I had to make a reservation. No table coverings or placemats. The food was served in paper plates and bowls, the cutlery was plastic knife, fork, spoon prepackaged. 1 person behind counter also served dining area. Poor girl running raggedy.
My family and I are visiting LA from the bay and we were looking for African food. I’m so glad we came here first. We had the afang soup, efo riro (spinach soup) and Jollof rice plate. You get sooo much food!! And huge pieces of meat, we got assorted. We all had to get to go boxes because we couldn’t finish it in one sitting. Everything was super delicious and fresh!!! Larissa took our order and we were so happy to hear that she’s Cameroonian too. Service was quick and there’s ample space to dine in. Next time we’re in the area we’ll come back for sure!
