Hunter House Inn Suites - Ingram

First of all, the rooms are garbage. Let 's get that straight. 100 for this roadside motel-level dump is egregious. But I have always been happy to stay here because it is convenient. Never again. When I made the reservation, I requested a smoking room and was told I had it. When I arrived, I double checked. The man behind the counter said that the smoking room wasn 't available, but that I could smoke in the room they gave me. He even put an ashtray in the room for me at my request. After returning home, I noticed an extra charge on my bill. When I called to ask about it, they said it was a charge for smoking in the room. I explained how the desk clerk had approved it and even provided an ashtray. He called the desk clerk and the man LIED and said he told me I couldn 't smoke and that he didn 't put the ashtray in the room. (Also, most of the rooms have a no smoking sign on the door next to the room number. My room did not. I have probably stayed there a half dozen times over the years...as I go to visit my hometown kinda often. But I 'll never know again. To call a customer a liar just for the sake of a 50 dollar charge is insane. I guess I understand why the desk clerk lied to his boss, to save his job or whatever...but this is infuriating. Find somewhere else to stay!

A beautiful place to unwind and relax. The room is very quiet and peaceful. Rating: 5/5.

If you're considering staying here, I suggest driving a bit further down Route 39 to the River Inn, which offers a much better experience and views of the river. The accommodations here were disappointing; the bed was uncomfortable, and the bedding was unclean with solid black stains and white patches—definitely not how it was intended to look. Additionally, there were not enough power outlets for our devices. The outlets next to the bed were hidden behind a large headboard, making it inconvenient to access them. While there was a power strip by the television, it was challenging to connect multiple chargers at once. There was no room service available, and when I asked for coffee, they informed me it wasn't possible to get any. They offered me two small packets instead, but they were stale. I’ll be sure to choose a different place next time.

Most notably, the desk clerks are awesome. I couldn't have asked for better people. In fact, every single person I met in this little town reminded me that there are still good people and great places in this world.

It was a nice little room for the price. Most of everything was clean except we were checking the TV for an hdmi outlet and touched spiderwebs…
