This small crêperie lies next to loire with a view of a narrow road and footbridge which leads to and from ingrandes. the bridge is quiet, as it has a weight limit: so no big truck. the restaurant seems particularly popular the terrace. that surrounds the building that sits on a corner. we had visited this place first and wanted to return to our stop-off in ingrandes. ingrandes was a convenient recreational place for our trip down to visit friends in Brioux-sur-Boutonne from saumur. to lose something to tackle the following day. we had three months earlier booked a table and expressed a desire for a table on the terrace. we arrived as planned, and our reservation was confirmed and in fact we were shown on the terrace overlooking the loire. the problem was that it was quite blusty: there we have people with enormous speeds on the loire para-surfing. we were determined to our meal on the terrace and stuck-it-out, although it was a bit cool, against the end of our meal. we have seen a Coteaux wine on the wine list, made from the sorte chardonnay. this wee we had previously experienced during this trip while we toured the loir (not loire) tal. we later discovered that the opposite around ingrandes south of the loire is another area of Coteaux production. to be unsafe if we want the wine, we have ordered a glass to try it. the wee was very sweet, too sweet for our taste. we drank it and then ordered a bottle of sauv blanc that was much more to our taste. we ordered both galettes with a boeuf Haché-Patty, mushrooms, parmentier potatoes, lardons and ei (the latter is cracked raw into the middle of the buckwheat pancake as last ingredient and then the whole galette is boiled, so cook the ice too). the galette is a burger in a pancake instead of in a bungalow. the patty is in the round a rindburger, but made of quality bark that was ground: it is cooked according to its preferences (like a steak) we had our medium. the burger was therefore boiled pink, it tasted of meat, not fat and it was not fat at all. we eat our steaks medium, so that served with bottom steel medium is no different. the meal was very pleasant, but unfortunately not as good as similar galettes we had on this trip in other restaurants. for dessert we both ordered a boule each of passions fruit, and blackcurrant sorbet, it was very well flavored and actually had real fruits in it, satisfying it was not too sweet. we enjoyed this very much, but the cold brise began to gnaw with us, so we quickly finished coffee and went.
The personal is only nice to French customers and blatantly rude to others. I am not really sure what they want to show by doing that maybe French euro in their pocket are better then non-French euro in their pocket? because by such reviews, non-French... euro in their pocket will certainly be less. I'm sure there could be worse galettes on this planet if not many, but for the service I'm not so sure. I was asked to pay at the theke, the dame at the counter left when she saw that I came and left me for a few minutes amdist some ten local drunk men. No, no, no, and she even looked mad when she saw that I didn't give a tip, now that's a really good one!
Open on Monday night, so that was a plus point. eating was average and the staff was in order, but not excessively welcome. had a starter to share, which was completely tasteless. if they can find somewhere else on a Monday, they might go there...
Pity! we returned to this creperie after a loving experience last year, which is a great mistake. we visited unintentionally on Friday night and in France this is a busy time (like england). we had sat in the terrace. our previous visit the same this time. we went right past a coworker and she wished us bonsoir, no ask for a reservation. we sat down, I, man and two teenagers and decided happy what to order. a person with shoulder length curly horns and glasses came on our table, I spoke school French and as answer she lifted her voice and pumped! the table calling reservation only incredibly rude! it disappeared in a huff and we stayed unfounded. all the other diners (French) were significantly intensified in our situation, in contrast to england, no accusations on their sharing! after what seemed like old, probably no more than minutes she returned and ordered us to come with her. we were marred on a side table (no other description). I was absolutely disgusting by her treatment of us, a bona fide example for terrible customer service. my man and my sons were thrilled to stay, so I bite my bite and thought we would salviate in the evening. we were not asked for drinks and for more minutes, where on the same, rude waitress I met, ordered us to go as the table she had reserved us in just a few minutes! I was angry, it was just a catalog of very bad customer service. the fact that we were a party of four and had paid a decent amount of money for a meal did not seem to take into account the way in which they treated us. when I said no and said we wanted her to look really surprised! my advice will not visit! avoid them at all costs.
A galette... a glass of rosé... Loire... an air at the piano... and a pleasant welcome! a good time to relax!
