The Cove Cafe - Innisfil

What an unexpected and unfortunate experience. I 've visited several times. I 've enjoyed the Benny 's on Mother 's Day, the fish and chips and generally have had terrific service. My last visit was rather bothersome. Having lunch with a client, I ordered the fish and a Greek salad. Salad was what it was, yet the fish didn 't have its usual crisp and flavour. As I was peeling the batter off my halibut, the server asked me what the issue was. I politely explained, nothing was corrected, and to my surprise the cook came out and started blasting me while praising it 's consistency and appeal. Instead of making it an issue here or on social media, I attempted to take up the matter with the owner. The owner accused me of previous complaints. 1. Which was a suggestion of a better hot sauce 2. A visit where an order of eggs Benedict which was not soft, but cooked above medium. Simply asked for it to be cooked as asked. 3. And we 'll my last visit. The email closed off by finishing on the unfortunate side of words I would never use (edited for swears) 'As for you calling my staff a B this is unacceptable and I will not allow this to happen again. I feel for your client, having to see you lowering yourself to this level. Hopefully you are not in the customer service field. ' An unexpected response lacking tact and resolve. When I would never utter words like that to someone I don 't know, especially in public.

It's located in the Sandycove strip mall . I always hear good reviews from many of our friends that live in the Sandycove Acres . I been there couple of times for breakfast and it's been good experience. Servers are super nice and friendly.

This is my second time coming here and I really like this place! The first time I came here I had a banquet burger and fries and it was really good. Big portions for a very reasonable price. I was really craving fish and chips and I decided I would try it out at the cove. I ordered 2 pieces of halibut and fries. It was really yummy. Very fresh and flaky. I should of got just one piece of fish because it's a big portion! Big enough to share I would say for a lighter lunch/dinner. I had a glass of wine-reasonably priced, and good-I also had a slice of the homemade strawberry rhubarb pie and it was good. Give it a try!

I have eaten at the cove so many times because my grandparents live next door. It's very hit and miss unfortunately but not because of the food. The food is always good The fish and chips are awesome there. I have never heard any complaints about the food anytime we have gone. The issue is definitely the service. Some of the waitresses definitely carry a chip on their shoulder. There's a blonde lady in particular who doesn't seem to have the patients to be a waitress especially when their regulars are all seniors. They recently renovated and it looks really great. I would recommend the place but I highly suggest the management do some training with the waitresses and maybe teach them some compassion. They won't be young forever.

This is by far my favourite place to eat in the area. The food is always good I have eaten there many times and never had a bad meal. Probably the best fish and chips around but definitely the best burgers. The staff are friendly and give good service. If you are hungry and want good food and service give this place a try.
