I recently started going to the Tesco café and I am loving the food, especially the coffee. I always enjoy my visits there because the staff is friendly.
The assistant at the checkout was very rude and not suitable for a customer service position; they might be better suited for stocking shelves. The food and drinks were okay, but the selection was very limited. I would recommend trying a different restaurant in town, such as the new one on Nicholson Street.
On the plus side, it is somewhere to sit down and relax after trundling around the store, but not a great place to eat. Dirty uncleared tables, indifferent staff, food not great, adequate at best, fairly limited choices. Best avoided if possible!!!
We stopped by the Greenock cafe for breakfast rolls before heading out to do some shopping. We usually shop at the Port Glasgow location and have always been impressed by the friendly and helpful staff there. Unfortunately, our experience at the Greenock cafe was not the same. The young lady who took my order seemed disinterested and did not provide great customer service. She didn't inform me about the different sizes of latte, forgot to give me a receipt, and I had to ask another staff member for one. After waiting at the counter for a while, I had to inquire about my order being brought to my table, and was then told to sit down and it would be delivered to me. It seemed like the serving staff were not enthusiastic about their job. Management should consider either hiring an experienced server to oversee the cafe or provide more comprehensive training to the current staff to enhance their professionalism. Despite the service, the breakfast rolls were delicious and hot, and the lattes were some of the best in town.
