Kawa Sushi - Inverness

I decided to give this restaurant another chance after my first experience didn't impress me with either the service or the food. This time, I ordered the spicy crunchy yellowtail roll but was disappointed. I couldn't figure out what fish was used in the roll; it tasted somewhat like canned tuna. There were no recognizable pieces of fish, and it was neither spicy nor crunchy. The first bite felt a bit off, and I'm hoping I don’t end up feeling ill. The other dishes I tried were just okay, but definitely not worth the $42 I spent, especially for just myself. The service staff appeared impatient and unhappy, which didn’t enhance the experience. Honestly, the sushi from Publix is better—and that’s not saying much. For this price point, I expect the sushi and service to be outstanding.

We visit this place frequently and absolutely love it. They have the best spring rolls and sushi! We are definitely regulars. If you’re complaining about the limited seating, takeout is always an option. We adore Kawa! Food: 5/5.

As a note for the business response: I understand that green tea is best brewed at 176-180°F, but the tea we received was scalding hot. It was so hot that I could hardly hold the ceramic cup. Rather than focusing on the brewing process, I suggest you prioritize improving the quality of your sushi.

We're new residents of Inverness, and wanted to find a good sushi place. While it is a cute place decor wise, the food was just OK. The server was unfriendly and short with every interaction. We ordered edamame, about 5 or 6 different rolls, and the chicken teriyaki. The rolls were good, but the chicken was not. It seemed like it was rubbery, bland, and had a bad smell and taste. We didn't bother sending it back, and just took it home for our pups. Looks like we'll be on the lookout for a GOOD sushi place now.

NEVER GO HERE! The Yaki Udon was disgusting. It was bland, the mushrooms were the dehydrated kind and they were rubbery and flavorless. The steak was tough and overcooked, and had absolutely no seasoning or flavor.Food: 1/5
