This food is nothing like it use to be. We haven't Bern there in years and they should give us a refund. It was not good at all. If we didn't live 20 mile away we would've taken it back instead we trashed it.
This was the 255th 'cue stop in a journey encompassing 30 states and the 14th stop inside Kansas. At the time of writing this review, Dudley 's is top ranked by the folks at Only in Your State. On a Saturday night at around 7 PM, empty tables predominated. and the well maintained salad bar seemed to be a bigger draw than the BBQ for many of the other customers. I laid out $17.93 for 3 ribs and turkey, with Texas toast, a side of cheesy potatoes, and a refillable soda (Pepsi products) completing the order. The ribs were well prepared: the meat separated cleanly at the bite, and the rub proved to be a pleasing version of the traditional KC style. I sacrificed one rib to the house sauce before setting it firmly to the side. The cheesy potatoes were top notch, but not so the turkey, which lacked both smoke and flavor. Curiously, it came shaved rather than sliced a major miss. So, there were a couple of hits here, but the turkey was grim. It will take more than one visit to work through the balance of the menu, and put together a platter that 's delish from start to finish! If you would like to read more reviews of BBQ in Kansas, or elsewhere in the continental US, you can consult our 49 published lists by following us, and then scrolling down through the current stack of reviews and photos.
