Hart House The 1640 - Ipswich

We were incredibly fortunate to host our wedding reception at 1640 Hart House. The staff was extraordinary—helpful and attentive throughout the event—and my guests are STILL raving about the incredible food! Kim ensured everything ran smoothly and I’m so grateful our reception was in her capable hands. I can't emphasize the food enough; it truly was the highlight of the evening. 1640 Hart House is a treasure in every way.

Once again, we had a wonderful experience at Hart House. My extended family gathers here for dinner every holiday season, and we always reserve one of the private rooms for our meal. The food is consistently delicious, the food and drink menus are extensive, and the service staff are excellent. After a year without our cherished tradition, we were delighted to be back!

Easter was a wonderful experience. We’ve been dining out for years, and the 1640 Hart House never fails to impress. The food, presentation, and service were outstanding. Our server, Sean, was very professional and knowledgeable about the menu, promptly answering all our questions. He was exceptionally attentive to all the tables in his section. This establishment has successfully upheld high standards even during challenging times, and the quality and variety of their dishes are excellent.

Great food, I had the steak tips. Cool atmosphere in an old house. We sat in the pretty chairs you see in the study of a rich person at the table at the fireplace. Friendly, attentive and friendly staff. Be ready to spend some money, but if you can afford it, you will enjoy it.

This is a gem of a place in Ipswich with an extensive menu for dining and a large selection of wines. You can make reservations for for a lovely 3 course meal or grab a quick bite like a burger in the Tavern with no reservations. The food was outstanding roasted rack of lamb, salmon and shrimp special, crusted tuna, grilled sea bass it all tasted delicious. The portions were very generous, and cooked to perfection. The service couldn't be better, all the staff were very friendly and did not try to rush us through dinner. We had a very relaxed meal, sitting in plush, deep leather chairs that were extremely comfortable. The ambiance was very cozy as you can see from the photos. It was a perfect evening at an exquisite inn.
