The Shipwreck - Ipswich

I must say while the main course was excellent, we were disappointed that they don't do a sweet menu anymore. We were offered some cake or biscuits, but not the same as a good pud to finish off with. We have been familiar with the Shipwreck for many years as we had our boat in the Marina, so spent many a penny in the pub with other boat owners. It's changed hands a few times over the years, but I'm glad to say the food is still very tasty.

This place was a good place to visit with friends and family. The food was full of flavour but a bit too oily for me. The staff were very busy and did well with the service, but to get what was requested was a little slow. The area and the restaurant were great. Good relaxing atmosphere. I would revisit. Just popped in for a midday drink as in the area, had grandchildren with me all had a tub of ice cream. Staff friendly and efficient. Plenty of seating inside or outside. Great views over the rver
