A&j - Irvine

A&J is one of my favorite Taiwanese place. Service is nice and quick, and restaurant is clean. Here are some favs: Dan dan mian: simple but delicious noodle dish with a peanut sauce base Thousand layer pancake: so satisfying to unravel the layers, similar to green onion pancake with tons of flavor packed into each layer Spicy beef noodle soup: thick, chewy noodles and flavorful broth Wontons: portion for this is a little small but it’s delicious Pork chop fried rice: soo good and includes the pickles too Pig ear salad: a neutral balance to the other dishes and texture is a little like woodear mushroom

Been coming here for 10+ years and the quality has remained top notch. Beef noodles are elite even by Taiwanese standards. Highly recommend the xiao long bao and garlic chili cucumber as well!

We’ve been going to A&J for years. Most of the dishes I’ve had over the years have flavor. Noodles are made daily! Portions can be bigger, but enough for lunch time.

Quick service, food was served within 7 minutes and was hot and delicious. I ordered steak with fat noodles and slurped everything down. Not a fancy restaurant, mom and pop feel. Would return for a quick no fuss meal. FYI they don’t serve beer or other alcoholic beverages. Parking: Super easy parking in the shared lot.

Great thick noodle soups and perfect pan fried gyoza dumplings! TWO kinds of scallion pancakes. If you like doughy Chinese carbs then this is the place for you! The line out the door is a pretty good sign for a Chinese restaurant in a town full of Chinese restaurants!
