Bistango - Irvine

Great food, nice cocktails. The best? Gorgeous jazz trio able on Thursday night!

I used to go to Bistango quite a bit almost 30 years ago when I worked in banking. It was a flashback in time. The food and service was really good. I had the Prime Angus burger which was perfectly prepared.

A fine dining experience. The venison cooked to perfection. The side dishes select precisely to accompany the meats. Only the risotto was rather bland.. Outstanding service. Excellent cocktails and wine list. Great atmosphere with discrete life music.

Rating is based on the service especially! It was impeccable. The staff were really helpful and nice. The food was not bad at all. I had the garden salad, parmesan risotto and white chocolate cheese cake.

My overall experience was alright. The waiter was not engaging at all and I don’t usually nitpick, but this is suppose to be a quality restaurant. The grilled octopus appetizer was just fine, there were a few pieces that felt undercooks but the sweet potato purée was delicious. Our entrees of the lamb chops and Chilean sea bass were really delicious as well. I guess I just expected more from a restaurant I have heard so much about.
