And very inexpensive, had 7 meals and 2 Guacs for under 500 pesos. Has a sidebar to load up on rice, beans, pico and sauces. Large menu but we just had the tacos (they make their own tortillas, so very fresh) ... no booze, can byob from nearby store....
I'd take a vacation just for these tacos! Literally my favorite tacos anywhere. Two steak tacos, rice, beans, and a Fresca. 54 pesos. Literally a $2.84 dinner.
Tucked away four blocks from Av. El Contoy, in a residential part of La Gloria, sits a quaint little taco shop. A Spanish Soap Opera was on the tiny corner television, and the witty little 4 year old who 's parents owned the place, mocked and teased everything the crazy Americans said : guacamole please! No meat. It was cute and perfect. Being vegetarian, it was hard to find something on the menu. Everything for the most part was meat. So we opted for a cheese quesadilla with the sides. They included beans, rice and napole, and all were to die for! Flavors abounded and we ate until we were beyond stuffed! It was all very inexpensive as well. I would definitely go back for seconds. Or thirds...
Of all the great spots for tacos this is becoming our favorite. The chirizo is the best, but the pastor is also fabulous. Great condiment bar, great to have rice and beans to add to your tacos.
They are open again at #7 Calle Jurel in La Gloria. I only know because they were serving their taco bar down near the Malecon in their special pottery bowls (with the cucumbers cut just so) during Carnaval. Their desserts that night were to die for also. and they open at 6:30 pm. This place is cheap and Tha Bomb! Such aaaah-mazing food!
