Long Island Cafe - ISLE OF PALMS

So far this year, I've only returned to two restaurants more than three times, and Long Island Café is one of them. The primary reason is the exceptional quality of the food. Coupled with friendly, patient, and attentive staff, it truly stands out. I enjoyed the wonderfully prepared pan-fried flounder served with garlic mashed potatoes and coleslaw, and I can’t wait to go back time and time again! My dining companions had calamari and crab-stuffed prawns, and they were equally delighted with their meals!

Today was our first experience dining here, and it was incredible! Our waitress, Kristy (I hope I spelled that correctly), was incredibly sweet and went above and beyond for every customer she attended to. I had the crab cakes accompanied by mashed potatoes and green beans, and it was simply delicious. Although we're not locals, we definitely plan to return during our next visit!

Let me start by saying that the staff is incredibly attentive! I loved how they noticed everything; if your glass was half full, they were right there to refill it. I also appreciated that the hostesses worked alongside the waitstaff to enhance the overall experience. My son had the shrimp dinner, which was perfectly fried. My husband ordered the filet mignon with a crab cake, and it was a fantastic choice—the steak was a perfect cut, well-seasoned, and the crab cake was delicious. As for me, I had the whole fried flounder. I have to be honest; it's not a dish I would order again—it tasted like it had been fried twice and was lacking in seasoning. It had potential but didn't quite meet my expectations. However, everything else was excellent. I didn't mention my dish to the staff because I wanted to simply enjoy the atmosphere and explore the menu. The lobster bisque was amazing, and the shrimp and grits were also fantastic. Would I come back? Absolutely! Just be sure to make a reservation; it's necessary and definitely worth it.

Had a great girls night celebrating a friend’s birthday. Sat at the bar and had super friendly service, love the wine list and the softshell crab on the specials list was excellent. Bartender was even so kind as to comp the dessert! Can’t wait to goback and try more things on the menu!

Awesome spot to eat with friends at the beach. The professional staff made us feel like family right away. Fresh bread and appetizers came out quickly. Oysters were delicious! Generous entree portions. Only regret was not ordering the calamari... Nexttime!
