The Ventnor Fish - Isle of Wight

Came here Saturday ... before Boris' big briefing on Lockdown 2.0. Friendly lady behind the counter. Chips, Cod and Scampi ordered. We took them home and scoffed the lot. Scampi was plentiful and crisp.

This was the worst fish and chips we've ever had. The fish batter was soggy and undercooked and the chips were still white. We ended up throwing half of our food away as none of us could eat it. I expected better and was really let down.

We had a wonderful fish and chips dinner at this restaurant in Ventnor to end our holiday. The fish was excellent and the chips were fantastic. Although there was a 30-minute wait for the food, it was worth it as everything was delicious and fresh when it finally arrived.

This was literally the best fish and chips I have ever had. Freshly cooked to order and the lightest, crispiest batter. Mouthwatering!!

Wow!! Thank you so much for an amazing lunch. My daughter is coeliac and absolutely loved her fish and chips with curry sauce. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and careful since he has a family member who is also coeliac. We will definitely make the 20 minute journey again.
