The Winter Gardens - Isle of Wight

The winer gardens was just half the point of our cliff hike on this day, so we stopped there for coffee, hot chocolate and a sweet snack. Drinks and sweets were in order, but we were left with quite sad impression over the place: empty, sleepy atmosphere,... decorate as from the seventies. Maybe it was due to the season and weather (we were there on the windy day with the midst of oktober), but the worn equipment and faded colors are probably the same when the place is more crowded in the midst of the summer season.

Good for soft or alcoholic drinks with views of the sea and ships. the meals looked good, but they did not try.

We stumble over the winter gardens when we look for somewhere to enjoy the late afternoon tea and cake...we are not actually! Maybe we should have trusted our first instincts that the place doesn't look open even, but we were from the views of. the (basic) external seats and the fact that a handful of people are already sitting there. the fact is that we are confronted with our order, which was really not complicated, due to the delay in the hour and therefore limited decisions. I have no problem with the latter, but the former created a strange atmosphere, whereby the server did not know what to do is not thought as a critique on the server so much as a constructive feedback for the superior, the verbally intervened yet did not offer any practical help and clearly did not have the necessary training. our cake was dry and overpriced, also by the standards of enjoying them the beautiful view. Clear, this is a beautiful place past years, but is in desperate need of an upgrade in all areas. in returning to home and in the interest of a fair review, I have reviewed the website of wg everything I can honestly say is that I cannot begin to reconcile everything I have read there with reality. I really hope that this can be reversed and improved because the location is excellent and certainly the personal is doing best.

This eating thing I can say, 'Food was late and almost unbeatable 2. asking for GF options personal had no idea what we ask them 3. order drinks 4..When we complained the attitude not my problem 5. was not a salt on the table and pfeffer shaker. Good

We was going to stop off here for a nice breakfast, it has lovely views, but alas only 2 staff, trying to service over 40 customers . We ordered 2 cappacino's and a menu. Our drinks took over 23 mins to arrive, during this time,...we decided, that if the drinks took so long, a meal would take up our whole day, so decided to find somewhere else to eat. I must say though, the two staff a young man and lady, who were run off their feet, were very friendly and welcoming, but were in dire need of backup. Places should not reopen, if they do not have enough staff. Real shame
