I parked my car and watched the sunlight sparkle on the water, resembling diamonds. I enjoyed my coffee and savored my bagel. It was pure bliss.

I called to make a reservation for a table for 7 people, but when we arrived three days later, the restaurant was closed due to the weather. I wish I had been informed of this when I made the reservation.

Bring the kids along to enjoy the playground. The charming Tiki Bar/Restaurant features an outdoor deck, outdoor showers, and plenty of seating options, including tables, benches, and a gazebo for some shaded relaxation. If you find yourself in the Islip area, just off downtown Main Street, head south to the very end and check it out. Food rating: 4.

I went there for lunch and was disappointed. The place could have been tidier, and the food was just average.

Vegetarian options include pizza, a large pretzel, mozzarella sticks, and knishes. It's also a kid-friendly place, with a playground and beach just a short distance away. Plus, there's a ramp for easy wheelchair access to the restaurant area.
