The Gatsby - Islip

They have your typical Italian food which was good but nothing amazing. I had the potato gnocchi in pesto sauce. It was a pretty small serving for pasta. I get gnocchi any chance I can cause it’s really not that common (although I am starting to see it more and more) and this was really not at the top of my list. It was over cooked which makes it very gummy and soggy. The pesto was also underseasoned and you could hardly get the basil taste out of it. The best part though (sarcasm) was our waiter. He was the most pretentious as creepy waiter I ever had. While taking each of our order he would get all snobby and be like excellent choice, the gnocchi is so delect and light it’s like a pillow in your mouth! with his nose in the air the whole time. He would also whisper in our ears when talking to us which freaked us out so bad but we couldn’t stop laughing then he would turn and say food is not funny! one thing that upset me alot was when ordering dessert he looked at me and said well you obviously wont be getting anything (I am a pretty tiny thin person) but I eat alot so I hate when people assume that I have an eating disorder or eat less. This really made me angry. I just hope no one gets stuck with this guy.

A historic mansion with several different dining rooms and bar. The atmosphere is very comfortable and classy but not over the top. The calamari was mouth watering the best I 've had in a very long time. Salads are unique and delicious. The Rib eye steak was cooked to perfection with delicious flavor! Definitely worth the trip.
