Rice Terrace Cafe - Isumi

I stopped here for lunch with a group of friends on the way back from a weekend out of town. The place is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature, and all the food is locally grown and organic. We had the lunch set and the musubi set (brown rice onigiri with Japanese plum inside). Together with the homemade kabosu juice (a kind of citrus fruit). All the food was absolutely amazing, great flavors! We also had dessert, pumpkins tart and soy milk ice cream topped with homemade Japanese plum jam, they were both very very good. All the items on the menu were vegan.

We arrived early for the set-menu lunch, then spent several hours wandering the grounds, relaxing in the hammocks, and petting the goats, before sitting down for dessert/afternoon tea. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and the food is wholesome. A revitalizing experience.

Honestly, we went by car but it was still hard to find. It is located in an isolated place in Chiba prefecture, but the entire Cafe is located in a little village with cottages and goats! Needless to say, the food was amazing. If you're looking for a good Japanese vegan food, give this place a try!
