Feedback gevenSuch a nice peasant market. Quite a lot of bakers, vegetable dealers and other local producers of delicious stuff. Very well organized, everyone was so friendly; it made for a pleasant experience. We picked up some leaks to take home and enjoyed breakfast at the lake in the back. It was great that there was a parking lot and there was no hunting. We did it at 9:00. Those who arrived after us waited longer for the parking lot, but nothing out of control.
This place is so charming. I love every visit when I'm in Ithaca on weekends. This is not like your typical peasant market, but it is an enchanting experience with more art / crafts instead of producing a no-frill market. There are often live music on the water, and you can walk for hours and get an incredible lunch or coffee at one of the providers. A must for people visiting the area. Downsides could be the parking (gets full quick) and the prices are somewhat higher than what most people would expect from a farmer market, but for me it is not distracting.
It is not a huge market, it has a lot of diversity. Beautiful peasant market with fresh high-quality products. The prices were slightly higher, but the quality of the products is also top notch. We have honey, soaps and bread. Wanted more things than market closed at 3 p.m. Parking lots are abundant, but it rained and it got all really muddy.
The Ithaca Farmer’s Market is ALWAYS an event as there are child activities (dollt shows, book reading), live music by local bands, Cornell University and Ithaca College Crew races, and TONS by ethnic food, fresh products, organic meat, handcrafted wines/wings, handcrafted woodwork, handcrafted clothing, it goes on and on. If necessary, there are ATMs on site, parking is free and easily available. Each cabin is different as they perform their transactions, but most will now use money, credit and e-pay systems (e.g. Apple Pay).
Nice relaxing vibe with lots of great local produce and unique finds, plus a variety of international foods including Cambodian, West African, Thai, Indian samosas, crepes, gyros, handpies, and burritos...and amazing homemade ice cream with freshmade waffle cones! Highly recommend!
