Excellent food ask for Alonso who is now a good friend, fluent in English helpful about local attractions. Tell him Mike and Esther from Canada sent them. Garlic shrimp is fantastic. Love this place have been there many times!!! great mid day snack dinner or huge margaritas
This place is on the beach, right at the bottom of the stairs and we love to spend a few of our days In Zihua eating, swimming, reading, playing cards, swimming some more. We've seen people just order a beer and hang out; we've seen Mexican families bring there own food, order drinks, and hang out. The staff (Salvartore---the owner, Diego's son?----seems to run the show on the beach) is super accommodating: served us dinner by candlelight the evening we arrived, allowed us to put our stuff on a table when we swam in the morning, even when we didn't sit there that day. The food is better than most beach fare (including at La Ropa): very generous shell fish in grilled pineapple, super tasty special shrimp (filled with cheese, wrapped with bacon), fish tacos, enchiladas, sopa de marisco. It's a great beach restaurant, albeit a work in progress (still no running water, but at least there's an indoor bathroom this year; last year it was a portapotty on sandbags in the back!) I don't recognize the picture submitted by the last reviewer.
If you are looking for authentic family owned experience ,this is the place. There are lunch specials each day, around 50 pesos.Nothing fancy, like eating home cooking in Mexico.Seems most customers are local workers on break. No English is spoken.Only open for breakfast and lunch.
Good food if you are willing to try local food. the place was a bit too hot (no ac, mainly outdoor eating) to be able to enjoy a meal.
