Mat's Cafe Catering - Jackson

I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars because the food was quite good. Overall, the experience felt like they were a bit new and still getting the hang of things. It's a nice spot for lunch, and I hope they iron out the kinks and become a staple in the area.

As a self-proclaimed pulled pork aficionado, I can confidently say that Mat's is among the best BBQ spots I've ever encountered. Whenever I spot pulled pork on the menu, I can't resist ordering it, no matter where I am, even when I'm traveling out of state. Mat's truly serves some of the best BBQ I've had, rivaling even the offerings from down south. Additionally, I really appreciate the café's atmosphere; it provides a wonderfully relaxing setting for a lovely lunch. The sides are fantastic as well — absolutely delicious!

Of course there are healthier options too. His salads are huge, green, and topped with dried cherries, blue cheese, and your choice of dressing.Hands down so good! Ordered turkey, bbq pulled pork, beans and Au gratin potatoes. Turkey was nice and moist. I don't eat pork but the guest loved the Pulled pork and said it was flavorful. The beans were gone in an hour.

Consistently good lunch! They are fast, inexpensive and large portions. A convenient lunch in downtown Jackson, their special usually includes a large chicken BBQ sandwich with one side- slaw, sweet potato fries, etc, and a drink- all for about $9. Great food huge portions. Wonderful BBQ and some things that are really unique like the baked potato stuffed with brisket (Awesome! . I have been there many times and have used them for catering an event twice. Always wonderful food!
