Canal St. Chicken Seafood

I ordered 10 wings, a slaw dog, a shrimp cup, seafood boil potatoes, extra seafood butter, and homemade ranch. The only item I would consider ordering again is the slaw dog, which was fantastic! The main issue was that I had to wait over 30 minutes for food that was supposedly already ready. When I arrived, there was a line, but I didn’t mind waiting. Both DoorDash and the young woman at the window informed me that my food was done and would be out shortly. However, once I reached the pickup window, I ended up sitting there for over 30 minutes while the staff attended to all the other cars in the drive-thru, and then waited an additional 15 minutes after that. It was quite strange that the entire line of cars, which had extended out into the street, was cleared while I was still waiting for my order. The receipt attached to my bag indicated that it had been 43 minutes since it was completed when I finally received it. Maybe if the wait hadn’t been so long, my experience would have been better, but the chicken wings were small, soggy, and overly salty. The shrimp cup and potatoes lacked flavor, and the seafood butter tasted like outdated spices. It’s hard to explain, but it just wasn’t good at all.

This cozy little spot serves absolutely fantastic food! I enjoyed every bite and would definitely recommend it. It's not really a place for dining in; I suggest using the drive-thru and taking your meal home. Food: 5/5.

The food has been overly salty lately, and the Cajun ranch sauce is too watery. Overall, the quality has declined. Rating: 2/5.

Wow I was honestly very surprised how delicious the food here was. I ordered on Grub Hub and it came nice and hot and was amazing. The tenders and shrimp were perfectly fried and breaded and I’m very picky with breading. It’s was not too thick and gross. It’s just perfect. Fries were great too. I ordered a side of chicken livers because I wanted to try them but maybe they ran out b/c they sent chicken wings instead which were really yummy and no biggie. I got the combo of tenders and shrimp with fries and the portion is huge and will feed me twice which I love. First time trying and definitely my new go to.

I went last night to introduce my boyfriend to Canal St. And once again y'all DID NOT DISAPPOINT. ???? First of all the service was top notch, Jasmine (Queen) was very kind and patient with me and my HOH boyfriend. We both ordered the wings, shrimp and fries I got the flavor teriyaki and he got bbq. We couldn't wait to get home and eat it and it was devine as ever and that's why Canal St. Will forever remain my favorite wings spot in Jacksonville.
