Feedback gevenIt's been quite a while since I last visited Captain D's, and after my most recent experience, it may be a long time before I return. I understand that finding good help can be challenging, so I won't fault them too much for that. However, my order was incorrect, and I was given far too much of the wrong item. I considered going back to address the issue, but it just didn't seem worth the hassle. Sometimes it feels easier to skip a place altogether than to deal with trying to resolve a mistake.
The food was enjoyable, though the order taker seemed a bit confused; however, my order ended up being correct. It took some time for the food to arrive, but it was served hot and fresh. I don’t eat at Captain D's very often, but when I do, it's consistently good—always hot and fresh when it comes out, you just have to be prepared to wait a little. We need more Captain D's locations across the states!
My experience was quite unpleasant! I placed a DoorDash order for pickup and received a text saying it was ready. However, when I arrived at the restaurant 45 minutes later, they hadn't even begun preparing my food! The cashier rudely suggested, "You can go ahead and leave if you want." Why would I leave without the food I've already paid for? She was visibly frustrated, and I ultimately decided to leave because I didn't want someone who clearly wasn't handling their job well to be in charge of my meal. Unfortunately, this is the only Captain D's in the area.
I was greeted by a worker outside who asked for my order, as they were out of nearly everything. I picked a couple of items they actually had, but after 20 minutes, when I reached the window, they asked me what I had ordered. Only then did they prepare my meal. The service was very disappointing. It seems like there are always problems with staff and supplies in this part of town. The more they get paid, the less motivated they seem to be.
The meal I ordered last night wasn't up to par, so I reached out to the manager, Tinesha. She encouraged me to come in, and when I did, she personally prepared my meal again, adding some extra treats and a dessert as well. This gesture completely changed my experience, and I'm now committed to being a loyal customer. I even make the drive all the way from Yulee just to enjoy their food!
