Some of the best sushi we’ve had in Jacksonville. We ordered 5 rolls and they served it on a beautiful sushi boat! They also gave free clear soap and handed out this free fried roll that was yummy. The fish quality is excellent, and we're still exploring their menu compared to some of our regular sushi spots. I do want to mention one downside: during our second visit, a new waitress forgot something from our order. She then handed us over to another waitress and left for the night. When the manager discovered this, he was very kind and offered to take it off our bill and provide us with a complimentary Edamame appetizer. This brings me to a point for restaurant management: If a customer ordered the soft-shell crab appetizer and it wasn’t received, why would offering a free edamame appetizer make them happy? Many Asian restaurants do this—giving a free fried appetizer as compensation when most customers aren't interested in that, especially when what's missing was part of their order. While I appreciate the gesture, it would be much better to offer the item that was left out for free instead of something the customer didn’t order. Despite this criticism, I want to emphasize that my overall experience with Sushi Bear has been very positive. The staff is nice, and the sushi is of high quality!
