Onomichi U2 - Japan

One of the best spot in Onomichi! Nice bakery,cafe,interior stores in great renovated building.

Stayed here in December 2019. Comfortable, clean rooms with racks for bike storage. Hotel staff were kind enough to store my bags for one night after I checked out while I did the Shimanami Kaido. Highly recommended!

If you travel by bicycle on Shimanami kaido, this is suitable hotel for you to stay. You can bring your bicycle to check in the hotel at the front desk and even you can bring it into your room. The hotel was warehouse before and renovated in modern design now. It's so clever and I love it! :

It’s not cheap, and the website is a nightmare to navigate in English, but it’s a really cool place to stay if you’re cycling the Shinamani Kaido (and if you’re not, but there’s not that much else in Onomichi). The old warehouse vibe is great, rooms are really well done (although ours was a little dark), and food in the cafe, bakery, restaurant, and for breakfast is brilliant. They can also cater for gluten free baking rice bread and matcha cake in the bakery for breakfast and doing gluten free pasta for dinner. Make sure to notify them in advance and specifically request these items though.

Beautiful hotel/cafe/restaurant/shop complex in a former industrial structure masterfully renovated. We only stayed for coffee and pastries which were all delicious. Very well located by the seafront and a stone's throw from Onomichi station.
