Lodge itself was very disappointing. Little, dark... and really dated. Some other family members had another cabin and the third adult had to sleep on a sofa bed. Once it was out there, there was no room left! I heard there are plans to replace them in the next 15 years! Jasper himself was a good 20-minute walk. Was really curious about the experience of Tekkara, but was massively left under the ceiling due to the price.
We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights while other family members rented a cabin. We were all pleased with our accommodations. The location is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful river to sit by and watch the rafts go by. The restaurant was fantastic and the walk into town was very manageable. Seeing Elk in the morning was a nice surprise. We will definitely be returning!
I stayed at this restaurant for several nights in July. I visited Jasper in 2020 and had dinner here, so I decided to return in 2021. The prices in the area are quite high, but I wanted to be there for my birthday. The staff was friendly and helpful, and my cabin was in a great location (#11). Although it did not have a direct view of the cliffs, a short 10-second walk took me to the edge with a beautiful view of the Athabasca River. My only complaint about the room was that it was very small, especially considering the high cost of $390 plus tax. There was barely enough space for my suitcase on the floor, and it felt cramped with a camera bag and laptop. Despite this, I enjoyed breakfast overlooking the river and even witnessed a herd of Elk on the property one day. The fireplace was a nice touch, although it was too small and caused the cabin to fill with smoke easily. The food at the restaurant was good, but not as impressive as my previous visit. Overall, I had a wonderful time during my stay, but I would not choose to stay here again due to the high prices and small cabins.
The ambience in Tekkara is quite picturesque, amidst the pine trees and cabins of the resort. Our meals, spaghetti with bison balls and steak with shrimps were nothing special. The service is a little unpleasant. Like most places in Jasper the bars press the local...Brauen: I opted for the reluctance that was served in a can. "Nuff said... My partner ordered a diet Coke/Pepsi and was only communicated to the local Canmore Cola. Okay, good. Then the server came back with a Diet Coke and the comment that they were from Canmore. What? The ducks are a bit expensive, but this is a resort town. I really didn't want to go back.
Came in the restaurant as guest of the Lodge, did not expect to have such a good food served here; but it was a surprise! The food was great, the service was also great.
