Grand Central Bakery — Sellwood Cafe

Darn tasty breakfast sandwich. Always a line. Portland.

After a 30 minute wait for our sandwiches, they handed it to us in a brown take out bag because they were getting ready to close in ten minutes. We had a hard time finding a place we wanted to eat in Sellwood where we could sit down and be comfortable. We ordered our food dine-in. They should have told us it was going to take a half hour to make two sandwiches so we would not be able to eat there because the cutoff for eating inside is 10 minutes before close. I stop by here several times a week for bread and pastries and finally decided to stop going. While this bakery has the best bread I’ve ever eaten I just don’t want to deal with the unwelcoming atmosphere anymore. Every time I order something it’s like I’ve inconvenienced the person helping me. Frowns and hostility is all I get from them despite always walking in with a smile and trying by my best to be friendly. It makes me incredibly sad because they have outstanding food

Always enjoy walking here to grab a hot chocolate and loaf of bread in the morning. Outdoor seating area is available (without heaters so bring a jacket). Right in the heart of Sellwood.
