I like that they use part of their lot a garden for fresh vegetables. I expected pub type food since it has a large bar but was pleasantly surprised. Our server was friendly and helpful. The menu is kinda limited but what they do server is executed very well. I really loved the Caesar salad and the portion was enough to spit. You can also add chicken or large shrimp. We had the shrimp and it was a lovely addition to the salad. The chicken sandwich was crispy and not dry, topped with their homemade cold slaw and pickles. I would definitely do both of these again. The burgers we also very tempting. A great local restaurant that we will definitely put in to our usual spots. Once again I didn't get photos as we were visiting with friends.
This is a local gem , the appetizers are the best just delicious Will be back for more
Periodically, we will come here and try try again. Their food is generally good, the patio is really nice, and it is a local family business. I love that they have a garden and they use the produce in their dishes to have a seasonal farm to table kinda vibe. There is just always something off. My eggs benedict was good, my poached eggs were perfect, I actually liked the Hollandaise and I usually do not like any Hollandaise. The home fries were seasoned well. The cinnamon scones were just ok. we are spoiled by the scones at Coffee Cup off Barnes). My minion got the seasonal veggie hash because he is trying to eat a little better. I warned him it 'd have veggies he hates it did: squash, asparagus, turnips or possibly kohlrabi) but he added bacon for what the online menu stated is a $4 charge) to offset the health factor. His hash came with jammy-yolked poached eggs but that was ok. He liked that. The bacon was missing. Not ok. I gave him half my Canadian bacon/ham from my benedict and he passed over some of his dreaded squash bits, which were yummy). We were charged $5 for the missing bacon. Also not ok. Also, we did takeout and there was a charge for either the containers or the items, I am not sure which since there was no mention of it on their website. The two scones were in one container for a charge double the two meals ' extra charge, so I guess it is by the item. There was also a staff health and wellness charge on the receipt not mentioned anywhere else. We did call after we ate to notify them of the MIA bacon. They offered to let us come get it. Nah. We advised them to check their orders going out a little more thoroughly. Last time something was wrong they offered us a coupon. I think they might revisit some of their policies. We know restaurants are operating on narrow margins, costs are up, Covid had an impact. We get it. But we have been impacted too. I had Cancer during Covid. I especially get it. Breakfast was a bit expensive. Over $50 including tip. And it was good, but not amazing. If you go, we advise you to check your takeout in the parking lot before you drive away just to make sure it is all there. We might try again. We will see. We wish them well.
Our large party had a reservation on a Friday evening and were seated at the patio. The outside patio was great for the sunny day, with a nice open view. All the staff were friendly and paced all the drinks, appetizers, and entrees at a reasonable speed. The menu had enough options to cater to our large group so that is also a plus! Taste wise; the starters were my favorite. The zucchini fritters were light, crisp, and very fresh. The crispy potatoes and dip were also a delight. This brought my expectations up for the entrees. I ordered the steak frites, which was tender but was not a fan of how it was marinated or the flavor profile. Overall, a pleasant experience and the crew did well for dealing with our large party. The breakfast menu looks promising and will probably be back to try it!
My friend and I decided to visit RCC for brunch on a chilly, rainy Saturday morning. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm. We arrived a little after 10am and there was a very brief wait to be seated. Our server, Lilly greeted us right away and took our drink order. She was friendly and told us it was her second day there. We ordered two Bloody Marys with no garnish and light ice. The menu price said $8 for this drink. When our drinks arrived they were only half full cuz we were told everything is measured so with less ice that's all the drink you get. Really? I've ordered a Bloody Mary with light ice at many other places and my drink has always arrived full. Turns out it didn't matter cuz the drink didn't taste very good anyway. My friend enjoyed his fried chicken with gravy. I ordered a side of two poached eggs, a side of herbed potatoes and their cinnamon scone. I enjoyed my eggs and potatoes but the scone was very dry and tasteless. When our bill came the price for the Bloody Marys had increased to $9 each from the price on the menu. There is a 3% fee charged on each bill for staff health wellness benefits. This helps their employees pay for health insurance. It may seem like a nice idea but it isn't optional and why is it the customer's responsibility to help pay for their employee's health insurance? My friend who was paying the bill is usually a generous tipper, 20-30% but this fee rubbed him the wrong way so he only left 15%. All things considered, we don't plan on returning to RCC. There are too many far better places to visit.
