Hiltons are my go to when on the road. Upset my room didn’t have any of the bar soap and neither downstairs.
The hotel is very nice looking. Very nice pool area. Large breakfast area with a good variety of choices. The parking area is well lit, helped, on the even number side by a car dealership. Parking lot is well maintained. *Our room smelled horrible of cigarette smoke. (It should have been discounted pricewise) Room 125 is an adjoining room to room 127 that was a smoking room. The odor was bad enough that our throats hurt the next morning. The front desk apologized and does know of the problem. It needs to be Ozoned . There was no remote for the TV or soap for the separate sink. Room service had not reported the lack of remote. Luckily, the front desk had an extra. Tgere only left over toilet tissue from the previous guest. Room service did not provide extra. The room is large, with a fold out couch. One couch cushion is stained, both sides, no flipping it. The dumpster for the businesses on the Odd number side gets dumped between 4-4:30am.
We came to town for my husband's work, so needed a place to stay. There were limited places to stay in Jennings, so we were happy to see the Hampton Inn Suites had a room available. My husband had a job at the airport across the street, so location was perfect for us. We were greeted promptly and kindly. Check in went fast and soon we were in the elevator up to floor 4. The elevators were efficient and we never had to wait more than a minute or two for them to arrive. The hallways were clean and quiet. The room was a good size with two windows, which was nice. The A/C didn't quite seem to keep up with the space, as the room temperature was always a few degrees warmer than the thermostat setting. The TV was very dark, but we were unable to change the setting to fix it. It was nice that it could be shifted so it could face the bed or the couch, but from the couch it wasn't a good angle. But we made do. Breakfast was good. Lots of options and everything was fresh. Often hotel breakfasts can be a bit stale, but this was pretty good. Overall, it was a good stay. If we find ourselves in Jennings again, we know where to stay!
This is an older, less-premium Hampton Inn and it definitely showed during our visit in April 2024. The keycard system was down when we checked in and remained that way for several hours, so the staff had to escort us to our room and let us in. We asked for a call when the keycards were working again so we could pick them up, but that never happened, and I checked downstairs myself around 8 PM to find out that the keycards were working again. The walls are not as good sound barriers as other Hamptons and we could hear a lot from our neighbors. We also woke up to a dead animal smell the next morning, which we reported to the front desk. It was a mediocre stay overall especially given the $200 we paid to be there that night. If you can get a better deal, this might be worth it, especially considering the lack of other options in the area, but you may be better served to just keep on driving to the next major town like Lafayette to the east or Beaumont to the west.
