I come to Jesolo since I was a child and this has always been my favourite ice-cream place. Returning years later as a vegan I was already sad not to be able to go there any more, but I was so wrong. Not only do they have vegan gelato, no, they have THE BEST vegan gelato! My father is an ice-cream maker, so was my grandfather, so I can tell you, they really know what they are doing! Going back there tomorrow, of course!
She started producing vegan ice creams when the world still didn't even know what vegans eat. It has a showcase dedicated to all tastes with vegetable base (about 12gusti). And not the usual sorbets. Not really. Here you make a journey in the most intoxicating and unexpected tastes of ice cream! !
Most of the places in Italy will have vegan fruit ice cream as it’s not traditionally made with milk if it’s fruit a lot of places had for example strawberry, lemon, pineapple, maybe mango. This place has much more adventurous flavours including a lovely vanilla with little chocolate bits, a hazelnut which is amazing, chocolate fondant, raspberry ripple and loads more. I must have gone here about 4 times! So delicious!
There are numerous Gelataria in Lido di Jesolo but Malu is by far our favourite. The hotel we were staying in was a good 20 minutes from it but it was definitely worth the walk. Price-wise, most, if not all, of them charge the same prices but the Malu had the smoothest, creamiest ice cream we’ve ever had and the Snickers and Cremino ice creams were amazing!
