Had tickets to the opera House next door so we figured we would try the Marion hose bar. For a our dinner date. We had to sit outside till a table became available which at first wasn't bad they told us just a few minutes well that turned into a hour wait then when we finally got inside to a table the chairs were wobble and broken and the waiter said they would go over the menu with us but they forgot about us we waited for 45 minutes and still no service finally I left in disgust. And we walked across the street to the Mad hatter before our opera house show starts I suggest you skip going to the Marion hose bar and just go right to the mad hatter the service in incredible here we got seated right away and had food in front of us in a few minutes I give the mad hatter a 5 star eating unlike the poor service we got at the Marion hose bar.
Went there for lunch with my husband on November 17 right at lunch time. Staff was very friendly and we were seated right away. I had the fresh garden veggie burger with homemade kettle chips, which was delicious. My husband had the roasted portabello sandwich which was equally as good. We shared an appetizer of Marcona almonds in olive oil, sea salt and rosemary...outstanding! Waitstaff was super! Don't miss this little place when in Jim Thorpe!
The Manhattan was absolutely wonderful. The Irish stew was so so due to some season or herb that altered the taste from great to so so. Everyone else in our party loved the food. Highly recommend.
Stayed in Jim Thorpe for a couple of nights and we were looking for a place for lunch we had eaten here before as there are not too many options on a Wednesday we decided to go again. The place was hopping at noon time A beautiful day so many people were eating outside. We opted to sit inside at the bar . The bartender Zack was very attentive. I had a **** Mary very beautifully prepared but not a fan of the liquid smoke. Husband got an orange crush that was delicious. I ordered the French Onion Soup dumplings and they were awesome . I really enjoyed them. I ordered a salad which was just average.!Husband got a chicken salad sandwich that he loved. Very friendly vibe and good service. Would go back .
