La Scala Sukhothai Shanghai

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary glass of prosecco each. The cuisine was exceptional, with dishes that were both tender and flavorful. The restaurant definitely lives up to its Michelin plate award. However, we found the service to be somewhat lacking in attentiveness. The staff did not offer to take our winter coats, so we ended up leaving them on the chairs next to us.

The food is tasty but lacks the excitement you would anticipate for the price. The service was disappointing.

The chef is incredibly passionate and the food is outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It was great evening dinner with my friend in La Scala. A special seasonal menu prepared and presented by the Master Chef Theodor and Stefano. No doubt it was very impressed by the dishes with fresh materials from spring season and local market. A very interesting wine list is available and you can find wines from major wineries in Italy. It is a must try-out restaurant when you are in Shanghai.

After a few days of great Chinese food in Beijing and Shanghai, it was nice to have a bit of a change. La Scala was a great choice for that. I have to give my hats off to the two servers who took care of our group of 16 people. Cheers!
