Kauai Rosebank - Johannesburg

Often takes a very long time, and portions have become very small! The food is tasty though. Also don't understand why smoothies cost almost the same as a meal.

I ordered the new x2 Sriracha chicken wraps as a takeaway. I am not sure if the order was switched or what happened but I am so disappointed. I had the exact same wrap at Kauai in Harrismith and it was sensational. Blew my socks off quite literally. What a let down. I have no idea what was in the wrap this time round but the sauce was non existent and some chicken pieces were chewy. I will add that the staff are superb, friendly and quick but perhaps they just need a refresher of menu items. Unrelated, the lighting needs to be changed, very dull when you walk in there in the evening.

I went to Kauafter gym on a Tuesday afternoon well after lunchtime (around 3pm). There were no other customers at the time. I ordered a protein egg pot; medium to go. After waiting well over 20minutes for my order it was brought in a sit down bowl. I told them it was for takeaway and the entire staff began screaming takeaway. I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to transfer it to a takeaway container. When I got home all there was was an extremely hard cooked half an egg (I ordered medium), a couple of veggies and one piece of beef. Very dissatisfied.

I was excited to see and try out the Rosebank KAUAI, ordered a spicy burrito, it was wonderful, only problem was that the chicken was only in one half of the burrito, another disappointing point, is that I found a strand of hair in my burrito, and that ruined the whole experience for me, the staff is really helpful and friendly...

There are positives and negatives here. Positives: As expected, the food is fresh and tasty. I had the Spicy Burrito wrap and Peanut butter and berry smoothie. Both tasty. The Negatives: 1. Don't come here if you're hungry. The wrap which cost R90 was not filling and I'm not even a big guy. That being said quality does trump quantity here. Smoothie averages R58. 2. I was given my wrap in a take away packet even though I was sitting in. I also received no cutlery. 3. Decor could do with a bit of livening up as the ambiance is a bit sad. All in all its nice to have Kuai as a healthy alternative from the other fast food franchises
