Mythos - Johannesburg

We visited Mythos for a late dinner. Beautiful setting. Friendly staff. The portions are really generous. We had to request takeaways ! Definitely a place I’d recommend for anyone looking for great sea food and a great ambiance.

For our third visit here we both ordered the lamb shanks. The plus point was they were well cooked with the meat so tender. The downside was they are ridiculously expensive and the presentation lacking. The lamb shank with heaps of thin runny gravy and the potatoes on mine and the runny spinach literally slopped onto the plate amongst the runny gravy on my husband’s . Thankfully the taste made up for the presentation but at R200 a piece you expect something to look more appealing. <br/ <br/ For dessert I had the Greek Doughnuts with ice-cream in a Toffee-Choc sauce which was a generous portion and delicious. My husband had the rice pudding which he equally enjoyed. <br/ <br/ It was most enjoyable sitting outside with perfect weather for a summer evening and the waiters were quite attentive.

Such a great branch!! I didn't expect it. Friendly staff that were very accommodating to the heat, party and just casual lunch time rush. The food was absolutely delicious. It tasted fresh and home made. Big portions and real value for your money. Greek beer, a first but so good and a must try! I almost get the sense that the good vibe rubs off on the guests, as everyone was very happy and friendly. That pared with a beautiful restaurant, made it an amazing experience. Thank you so much!! We will be coming back regularly.
