And what a great find. Wheelchair accessible, clean, outstanding service, huge beer list, prices that are fair, and incredible food. The fried cauliflower and the fried avocado (with crab meat apps) were delicious. Could have just eaten those all night. Between three of us, we tried the fried fish tacos, the pork belly tacos, and the black and Blue burger and each meal was large, well seasoned, tasty, well plated, and most all around excellent. The only meh was the French fries neither good nor bad... just there (and left there at the end of the meal). We tried a beer flight of local or nifty sounding craft brews (2 IPAs, a cider 'ish, a stout, and some other beer) and have to say only one of the five beers was one any of us cared to order for a second round. Instead, switched to a well recognized name and kept on toasting. If I am ever back in this area will definitely coe
Stopped here on a Saturday night while in the area looking for some scrunge. There were a couple other places we kicked around the idea of trying but decided on this place. Located across from the park downtown it looked somewhat inviting and a sports bar type place. Upon entry it failed the walk in test. 1. There was no hostess kiosk or place to stand. 2. Everyone in the restaurant turns and looks at you. Pretty annoying. There was a small area at the bar or regular seating which we chose the latter as a jazz trio played loudly into my temple. Menu seemed a little out there for me but there were several items I wanted to try from the bowls, to curry, to some appetizers. For an appetizer we went with the crab dip. Yikes. It was very oily and wasn't creamy at all like they had ran out of the proper ingredients. The best part was the crostini it came with. As a meal I ordered the chicken and waffles which was a pure manifestation of my indecision to be able to pick an item to eat and being scared as hungry as I was I get something and not like it and then in turn still be hungry. The chicken and waffle was good there was no side that came with it? Even though in other pictures I see sides. Not sure. The chicken was very well done properly fried and seasoned and the waffle had a distinct taste to it. Maple syrup gravy was also very good. Then came dessert a 9 chocolate tower. Where? It was a slice of cake which if that is 9 then I should be in specialty films. Cake was okay, not incredible. Overall this was ok. Our waiter was absent minded but nice and the staff seemed like they didn't know what each of their roles were. I'd like to come back and try something more adventurous but I would be afraid given the issue with executing a crab dip.
I been wanting to try this place for a while and finally did for brunch. I would love to come back for dinner too now. I had the chicken and waffles. It was really tasty one note the gravy was way too sweet. Would have loved a sweet and spicy thing instead. We also had the IPA curry **** mary. And then some one had the ham egg Benedict which was probably the best i ever had. We loved this place and deff want to go back and try more.
My mom and I went for an early dinner and all I can say is WOW. Everything we had was delicious and excellent. We shared the Brussels sprouts to start and they might be the best I've ever had. They were smothered in a chili sauce and had peanuts as well. The combination was surprisingly delicious and they were prepared perfectly. As for entrees, my mom ordered the chicken and waffles and I got the tuna poke bowl. I tried some of my mom's dish and it was wonderful. I am not a huge fan of chicken and waffles but the syrup made this dish. During my next visit, it might be hard to resist getting this. As for the tuna poke bowl, it was also wonderful. I've had my fair share of poke bowls and this was definitely in my top 5. The ingredients included were fresh and my favorite part was the wontons that I could use to eat the bowl like a dip. I wish I got more of them! This place is certainly a gem in downtown Johnstown and worth the visit if in the area!
Food was outstanding!!! Service was outstanding!!! Highly recommended. We were stopping through on our trip from Michigan back home to NJ. One negative. Though the singing/harmonica playing/guitar player was an excellent musician, he averaged 83.3 decibels in what is actually a small space. That is like having a loud car in the room. Way too loud to talk and actually painful to my ears. Made the end of the meal for me (a professional musician) a total drag.
