Fred Red's - Joplin

Since I was a teenager, I took my family and we all loved it. the taste of nostalgie. very high quality food with excellent service and an entertaining atmosphere.

They see this place on the Ozark episode of anthony bourdain, and when we were in the opposite, we thought we would try! I think we came to the opening and the place filled quickly! the staff and the locals were very friendly. very simple and unique menu! I ordered the half and my son ordered the overload, which a larger part of tamäuse with spaghetti topped with a meat-based chili sauce and then we have served it with something parmesan and hot sauce! with a side of pickles and wobble! interesting combination but we both really enjoyed it!

My son and I came in around 3p on a Thursday. Wait staff was the best! The local patrons only enhanced our time there. Quintessential diner experience! Props to the whole crew, you gals and guys rock!! And a big thank you EVERYONE keeping American diners, (AMAZING CHILI), alive and well for a dad and 5yr old Jr. to stroll in on a mid Thurs afternoon and soak up some truly authentic AMERICANA. Glad to see Joplin Strong!

Why is this place not ranking on Google as one of those places you must try before you die?? I travel all over the country and am always looking for those unique places that just crank out mounds of good food that is to die for! (I am an avid foodie traveler. I always ask and search online for these special places that are often the Mom Pop family owned type joints. Today I found one of those places... Fred Reds! Nothing fancy, but full of good, salt of the earth people and mounds of good food like your mama or granny makes! I had the jumbo tamale spread with beans and onion pickles and a Dr Pepper! Be warned. The jumbo is huge (I was very hungry ! You owe it to yourself to make it a point to visit this place at least once in your life.... You will be hooked for life!! You have been warned!!!
