This was our first time dining at this restaurant, and hopefully not our last. The menu was incredibly diverse and well thought out. I was blown away by my grouper with beans and Tasso ham, as well as the hamachi tiradito appetizer that we all enjoyed. I can't wait to come back and try the hay smoked Bourbon oysters next time!
Anna, my server, was fantastic. I ordered the NY Strip steak, cooked well but lacking in flavor, and found it to be disappointing for the high price of $65. The Broccolini was tasty, however, the Bernaise sauce was lumpy, bland, and tasted like it came from a package. The strawberries and cream dessert was delicious, as were the cocktails, but they were overpriced. I was shocked to see that they were charging $95 for 1.5 ounces of bourbon that retails for only $25 a bottle. This markup on Weller Reserve was excessive, allowing the restaurant to make a huge profit. I believe they should reconsider their pricing strategy. Overall, the service was excellent, but the food fell short and the pricing on alcohol was outrageous.
1000 North was fantastic, as always. Joe’s service was too notch and Candice, the sommelier, was friendly and helpful. The food was cooked exactly as ordered and tasted very high quality. We love this place. We will be back.
Nose bleed prices but superb food and fairly priced wines
